Elsa Luukkanen and Aino Lehtoluoto, two women of Finland, were evangelistic pioneers in their country. Much has been said about the priesthood of women and about ordaining them into the gospel ministry, but the question of being ordained never seemed important to these two women nor to the people for whom they worked. They had the opportunity to serve God, the denomination, and people wherever they went. That was enough for them. They answered a call and willingly did what they could.

These two faithful women spent thirty years holding meetings in cottages, auditoriums, theaters, and churches. They walked miles or rode on trains or went by horse and buggy in all kinds of weather to keep appointments. They played their instruments and sang of God’s love and talked about it as they met with people wherever they went.

There is a living, miracle-performing God who cares for every human being, and of this Elsa witnesses in this stirring story.
